Chris Lloyd (d. 29th April 2008)

Sadly Chris Lloyd passed away this morning, Tuesday 29th April, after a long illness bravely bourne

Chris came to the cricket club with her husband John many years ago and became a stalwart in many ways. Chris and John's two sons Robert and Richard were fine cricketers through the youth and up to senior level until they departed to pastures new in Canada and North Wales. But Chris contributed to the club not only through her menfolk but also by being a central figure in the tea ladies set up. Chris organised the rota of the lady volunteers and was famous for her cream slices and scones with cream and jam. The Llantwit teas became famous as the best around and even surpassed those of Werrington in Cornwall (known to be excellent)

Affectionately nicknamed Sybil (probably by Martin Flye) of Fawlty Towers fame, Chris left us with a problem when she and John temporarily left to live in North Wales and the tea rota collapsed only to be revived when they returned after several years.

Chris will be greatly missed by all in the cricket club.

Chris's funeral has now been fixed on Friday 9th May at Glyntaf Crematorium at 12 noon. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Friends of Y Bwythyn, Pontypridd and District Hospital, The Common, Pontypridd CF37 4AL
