Llantwit Fardre Cricket
Club held another very successful annual dinner to celebrate a damp but
enjoyable year.
A gathering of almost 100
people, players supporters and guests were present to hear a very
entertaining talk by the new chairman Mike Tothill, see the awards being
presented and listen to an after dinner talk by rugby pundit Garin
Jenkins.
The season had been almost
entirely affected by the record amounts of rain and less than half the
games has been completed. The senior teams had performed well in
division one of the Welsh Club Cricket Conference finishing safely in
their respective leagues. It was pleasing to see the youngsters, notably
Michael Grossett and Jordan Sieniawski, breaking through into the first
team and performing well. They will perform even better next season with
the benefit of experience.
Sides at U9, U11, U13 and
U15 have performed well in the flourishing youth section ably organised
by Lynn Morris.
